ABOUT US

The Identity Theft Action Council of Nebraska is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Omaha, Nebraska.

The organization was founded in 2006 by Jaimee Napp, an identity theft victim. Several years ago a manager at Jaimee's former employer stole her name, birth date and Social Security number from employer records and opened several new credit card accounts in her name.

Our mission is to empower consumers through education. The primary goals are to increase public understanding of identity theft crimes and its real cost to consumers through innovative education and communication strategies and assistance victims of the crime through the recovery process.

Our activities will provide resources to victims, encourage industry, law enforcement and lawmakers to work together on solutions to curb identity theft and conduct groundbreaking research on identity theft and privacy issues affecting Nebraska consumers.
